Meridians are part of our subtle body anatomy, subtle channels of spiritual energy that run through the body in channels. These are perceptible, visible, palpable channels, both Acupuncturists and Shiatsu Therapists can see, feel and heal them.
Our life energy, Ki (“qi”) flows along these meridians, and when it is blocked or disrupted pain, discomfort, and illness can occur. Shiatsu Acupressure treatment involves transferring energy from one element to another creating balance again. There are 14 main meridians in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and each meridian is associated with a different body organ. Both finger Acupressure & Acupuncture needles target specific points on specific meridians, and this restores proper energy flow. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the body has both Yin and Yang aspects - including our meridians. Each Meridian comes in pairs, one is a Yang meridian, one is Yin.
