Sports Massage

This massage is not like the one you'd typically receive at a spa. Instead, a sports massage is a treatment aimed at preventing and treating injuries and keeping you in tip-top shape, improving performance.
 
Alongside the deeply flowing & therapeutic movements of effleurage and petrissage, with oil, I mix Shiatsu Massage into the treatment for Sports injuries and strains.
 
Acupressure points are called Tsubos in Japanese medical terminology.  Tsubos are magnetic points in the body accessed through stimulation, raising the health of the human body at an accelerated rate.
 In Chinese Medicine, Tsubos are places where the flow of Qi (or Ki) and blood can be influenced or modified to regulate the functional activities of the body. This means that Tsubos can not only reduce pain, but also help regulate and harmonize the functions of the internal organs and the musculoskeletal system.
For muscles, tendons, ligaments, and bones to be healthy, they must be adequately supplied with blood, moistened by fluids, and provided nutrients. The tissues are therefore dependent on the organs that produce, circulate, and supply these substances. Along the Tsubo magnetic body system are channels called meridians that have deep connections to the internal organs, there are tendinomuscular meridians, which directly relate to the movement of muscles and joints. Through the meridians, Tsubos can help relieve muscles that are in spasm and improve local circulation and joint mobility.
